Free and Confidential Legal Advice

The YLC provides free and confidential legal advice to young people aged between 12 and 25. We operate a walk-in centre in Canberra, sharing an entrance with Legal Aid ACT, between 9am and 5pm weekdays. The YLC also provides assistance over the phone and by e-mail.

We can provide assistance in many areas, including;

  • Drink driving & drug driving
  • Other criminal matters
  • employment (and apprenticeships)
  • motor vehicle accidents
  • contracts
  • residential tenancy
  • consumer issues
  • debt
  • traffic fines
  • driver licensing
  • family law
  • discrimination, and
  • protection orders

If we are unable to assist, we are able to refer you to other services, including other legal centres and youth organisations.
